Patrol Squadron 28
United States Navy Patrol Squadron 28 lives on many years after the final log book entry in 1969. The heritage of this unit is a rich testament to the dedication and sacrifice of all who served the Squadron. From its origin in 1943, through WWII, the Korean conflict and the turmoil of Viet Nam, the devoted service of its men and the successful completion of deployments and special operations signifies a job well done.
Although most of the equipment, technology, and tactics used by VP-28 are long gone, the legacy of the Squadron is etched in the memories and friendships of proud "Hawaiian Warriors".
Since the informal "rebirth" of the Squadron at the first reunion in Branson, MO in 2001, continuing reunion gatherings are held annually in cities throughout the states. Volunteers step forward each year to plan and coordinate reunion activties. We thank everyone who has contributed to each reunion to make it a fantastic success for all attendees.
