Overview:  The “All Hands” Reunion for 2002 will be held in Pensacola, Florida on May 30, 31 and June 1.  The events will feature a banquet at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Callaway Golf Tournament, Hospitality Suite Functions, Self-guided Tours, Website Instruction, Consideration of a proposal to establish a PATRON 28 Association and other events still in the planning stage.

  1. Hotel:  The Reunion Hotel is the Pensacola Crowne Plaza Grand Hotel located at 200 East Gregory Street, 32501.  Phone toll free 800.348.3336.  One hundred rooms have been blocked for our event and will be available until 30 days prior to arrival.  Reservation requests received later will be subject to availability.  Check- in time:  3:00 pm, Check-out time: 1:00 pm.  A 72-hour notice of cancellation is required.  The special rate negotiated for our reunion is $ 95.00 plus tax for single or double occupancy.  This rate is available seven days prior and seven days after the reunion dates.  Refer to the PATRON 28 reunion when making reservations.

The following services will be available:

·        A retail mall in the hotel

·        Complimentary airport shuttle

·        Complimentary parking

·        Complimentary morning newspaper

·        Complimentary coffee in room

·        Ironing board, iron, hair dryer in room

·        “1912” restaurant in the hotel serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in casual attire.

2.      Hospitality Suite:  The Reunion gathering place will be the Grand Central Station in the Crowne Plaza.  This 47’x28’ room will be for registration, meetings, web lessons, get-togethers, message board, “happy hours”, and whatever.  Bar hours will be no-host cash basis.  The bar will be open only in the evenings.

3.      Banquet:  The Reunion Banquet will be held on Saturday, June 1 from 1800-2200 hours at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, located on the Air Station.  A no-host cocktail period will precede the banquet from 1800-1900 hours.  The menu will be as follows:

Choice of Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus or Breast of Chicken Florentine, Caesar Salad, Redskin Potatoes, Green Beans Almondine, Key Lime Pie.

4.      Golf:  A Callaway tournament is scheduled May 31 at 0900 hours at the A.C. Reed Golf Club at the Naval Air Station.  Green fees are $21.00 including cart and will be paid to the Club directly.  Participants will also be required to pay a $5.00 prize fee during registration.  Currently we have 12 tee times (48 slots).

5.      Friday Buffet: Wow! Will be held in the Crowne Plaza Ballroom from 18-2000.    Will include four salads, three entrees, vegetables and three desserts.

6.      Self - Guided Tours:  Most are Free.   These aren’t: Historic Pensacola Village $6.00, Civil War Museum $5.00, IMAX Theater, regular $6.25, retired military $5.75, Trolley $1.00, Pensacola Museum of Art $2.00, Fort Pickens $8.00 per car, Big Lagoon State Park $3.25 per car.   All other tours are free.   Visit www.visit pensacola.com or call Pensacola Visitors Info Center toll free 800.874.1234 and obtain a Visitors Guide.   This is strongly recommended for all attendees.

7.      Reunion Photo: A group picture will be taken at the National Museum of Naval Aviation.   For those unable to attend the Reunion but desiring a photograph, complete and mail the Registration Form with funds to Dick Caudill by April 15th.

8.      Web Instruction:  During the Reunion the Webmasters will be available in the Hospitality Suite to provide update and usage information on our PATRON 28 website.

9.      Association Proposal:  During the development of this Reunion we have encountered several squadrons and other military groups that have formed Associations of various types to plan and administer squadron activities.   A general discussion of this issue will be held on Friday afternoon in the Hospitality Suite.   You are encouraged to attend.

10. Summary:  Excitement has been growing over the past months for the Reunion.   Our new Email broadcast capability has enabled us to spread the word easily to our “web-connected”.   Feedback from that group has been terrific and many have expressed their intention to attend the Reunion.   We urge you to join the group, see old friends, embellish how “it really was” and enjoy the festivities we have planned for you.   The Committee, always looking for a “ Few Good Men “, as volunteers, is as follows:
